Ryan Otey, 27, was being held in the Dallas County Jail Friday.
Cedar Hill police said they were dispatched to the Crescent Place Assisted Living Center on 225 West Pleasant Run Road on Thursday.
An employee reported seeing Otey, who is a staff member at the center, in a woman’s bed with his pants down. The resident has “limited mental faculties,” police said in a news release.
Otey gave police a voluntary statement about his involvement with the resident, and police said they arrested him based on what he told them in the statement.
The resident’s family members have been notified of Otey’s arrest. Police are investigating if there were other victims.
Court records show Otey was arrested in May 2014 on a misdemeanor theft charge, after a Walmart manager saw him take price tags off several shirts and place them in a shopping bag without scanning them.
The charge was dismissed after Otey took an anti-theft class and completed 24 hours of community service, records show.
