A Baltimore woman has filed a lawsuit against the Baltimore
mayor, city council and two city contractors after she said she was hurt
when her toilet exploded in 2014.
Angela Wright filed the lawsuit in Baltimore City Circuit Court in February.
She says she was using her bathroom toilet when it backed up
and blew her off the seat. The lawsuit states she was covered in feces
and suffered physical injuries.
The lawsuit names the city council, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and contractors Spiniello Companies Inc. and Heitkamp Inc.
Wright’s attorney Louis Glick says they will seek about $225,000 in damages.
Representatives from Heitkamp Inc. and Spiniello Companies
Inc. did not immediately respond to requests for comment from news
agencies.
Howard Libit, a spokesman for Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, did not comment citing pending litigation.
The trial has not been scheduled.
